This really depends on your situation. If you choose not to escrow, you would need to be prepared to pay those annually when they come due. You will have a lower monthly payment, so you would be able to save by not escrowing. If you choose to escrow, you never have to worry about paying those separately. If you have a higher loan to value, the lender may require you to escrow. Some states require the servicer to pay interest on escrow accounts. In those areas you may not be able to escrow
